Carlene Carter Rocks! |
|||||
|
Back in the day...I guess it was 1990. I was watching Ralph Emery's show on CMT (which at that time was a country music station.) Ralph introduced this little ball of fire and I realized this was Carl and June's daughter. "I Fell in Love" was the song she was singing. I though, man, this girl rocks. So, as I usually do in the rare case someone's music interest me, I did some research, I got all the LP's I could locate and educated myself on the music and life of Carlene Carter. I saw several of her live shows in different parts of the country. I find Carlene's writing very good to
my ears and my emotions. She writes mostly from experience. Her creative word play in
her music is really good. While researching her music I discovered a
rare gem of a song on one of her albums. The song
"Too Proud" it got my
attention easily and the lyrics are some of the best I have ever heard
in a song. My only objection to this track is the guitar (which I
like a lot) over powers her vocals making it difficult to understand her
lyrics. I discussed this with her and it was a funny conversation as
only CC can do it. Thanks for the music Carlene.
