Connie was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Billy's Photo's

Dec. 12, 2010
Don pretty much summed up the event in his recap, not sure what else I can add.  Connie looked radiant and rested.  She was gracious and charming throughout the whole event.  She had many, many laughs at the acts and it was so great to see how she enjoyed herself.  Her outfit and jewellery were stunning; her hair and makeup impeccable as usual.  She was decked out in earthy tones which are quite flattering on her.

People kept mobbing Connie at her table and at one point Tony was bordering on angry; I mean Connie needed to have her lunch too!  It was so thrilling to be in such close proximity to her.  Eric and Cora's table, and Don's and my table, made sort of a 'triangle' with Connie's table - you will hopefully be able to see this by the photos.  At the beginning of the event, I did walk past her table, Connie looked right at me, I said "HI CONNIE" and waved to her; she said "Oh, Hi!" and waved back, so that made my day right then and there!  It pays to be tall and dark, haha.

The event was extremely well-organized and professionally done; the acts were just great and there was a lot of terrific comedy.  Several times Don and I commented to each other how smoothly everything was going and how entertaining each minute was.  We were so happy for Connie the whole time; she really was being honored by each and every person.

Connie's voice was in outstanding form.  As Don said, she did several numbers and lastly, 'God Bless America' and I swear she came close to her original recording; her high notes were flawless.

The green room after was very pleasant and not frantic at all.  Connie seemed relaxed and pleased.  When Eric presented her with our group gift, Connie was just overjoyed!  She couldn't stop saying 'Oh how nice this is!  This is so wonderful!'  about the record gift.  I said 'Gee Connie, you just made another record and didn't even know about it!'  (LOL)  had to get my .02 cents in!  It was just awesome to be in this (somewhat more) relaxed atmosphere and have a little chat with her.  Believe me you have to pack a lot in to those minutes when there's a huge lineup of people waiting!  Afterward I kept saying OK, I can die happy now.  I gave her my photo of me and her, and she signed mine, I thanked her and hugged her, wished her a Happy Birthday, and kissed her.  WOW.  What a woman.
