"The Swinging Connie Francis" (Originally released as Connie & Clyde)

"I'm very happy that the G.H.B. Jazz Foundation has chosen to issue my LP "Connie & Clyde" under their Audiophile label.

It happens to be my favorite LP among all of the albums I ever recorded. And it was so fun, during the album's creation, to try to capture the essence of the 30's. For example, I asked my mother about popular expressions and fashions of the era, and I had a lot of fun dressing up for the original LP cover in a Bonnie & Clyde-style striped suit with a shotgun over my knees.

I loved and enjoyed recording all of the songs. We did gimmicky sorts of things, like having the first 32 bars of a song sound as though it were coming through a gramophone.

I hope that you enjoy listening to "Connie & Clyde" as much as I enjoyed making it. I thank Mr. George Buck for making this release possible and I appreciate your loyalty."
