There
are so many styles of music. I like some of them. These links are of
some I enjoy the most. Click on the links and who knows? You might
discover some new music to add to your collection.
Jimmy Tittle is one the best singer/songwriters I have ever had the
pleasure of listening to and honored to call my friend. The song linked
below
is one of my favorites, written by Jimmy and Steve Watts;
"Always a Stranger" from the CD "It's
in the attitude" His new CD "All The Pretty Rubble"
is now available on his website (click here)
STORE This link leads to Jimmy's
new video "The
Straw" which is on the new CD.
Carlene Carter
is an excellent
songwriter and performer. Back in the early 1990's she had several good
hits,
"I Fell in Love"
was her first major chart song. Some of you from England may remember
her, she was married for some time to Nick Lowe, who produced some of
her albums. She has recorded a great new album,
"Stronger" on "Yep Rock Records" here is a link:
http://www.yeproc.com/artist_info.php?artistId=12055 you get a
treat, you can hear some of the CD. Below is my favorite song ever
recorded by Carlene "Too Proud" She really should release this again!
I had the pleasure of seeing CC at the Johnny Cash Pickin Fest 2009 Saturday
night show, she and Jimmy sang together, it was a real treat for me. CC
you still Rock
woman.
Johnny Cash and June Carter-Cash
these
two people need no introduction. Both legends and icons in the world of
music. This link takes you to Kathy Cash's website, which can
direct you to some other sites for John, June and others.
Rosanne Cash
another fantastic
singer and writer. I love her style and her artistic use of words. My
favorite all time song by her is
"The Real Me"
linked in player
below. Her name links you to her website. Rosanne has started a
wonderful new feature on her site called (I love this)
"The List" Visit her there,
wonderful site. She also has a new album out with the same name. I think
she has a hit here.
Kathy Cash-Tittle
This
site is a lot of fun very entertaining and informative. Kathy is one of
my dearest friends she is married to Jimmy Tittle, (see above) They have
3 children, 2 of whom I know pretty well. She is also the daughter of
Vivian, Johnny and June Cash. She has some wonderful Cash family
memories and photos on this site and is writing some wonderful memories
about her life and family.
Aaron
NevilleThis
is the style of music we grew up listening to in New Orleans. Aaron's
voice and his style are captivating. "The Neville
Brothers"
are excellent
musicians. Aaron was the first of this famous New Orleans musical family
to have a major hit with "Tell it Like it Is". His name links you to his
website.
Jenna Esposito
Very talented and has a really awesome voice and very pleasant
personality. Any singer who does a
Connie Francis tribute, is a friend of mine. Especially when
they can really sing. Check her out, and buy a CD.
I got to see the CD cover photo today, looks great and I will post the
link to get the CD as soon as it is available.
http://www.conniefrancisrocks.com/je.htm If you are in
New York when she does her show be there.
Mitzi Dawn
I had the pleasure of being exposed to the music of
Mitzi Dawn while I was in Starkville, Ms for the 2009 Cash Pickin Fest.
She is a singer/songwriter and she did a showcase of her work during a
writers section of the weekend, so I was introduced to her by the
Tittle Kids. I like her voice, it is edgy and warm, and she makes
you feel her pain; so it was fun to hear her for the first time. I
found a link to her MySpace and added it so you could check her out. I
have no music by her, but maybe she will complete her album soon.
I like her word play in her writing, I like good hooks in a song.
Check out "I'm Dying for Something to Live For". Those in Nashville or
going to Nashville, check out some of the clubs that have writers nights
and you will see this kind of talent showcased or visiting a
showcase there. This is one of the best parts of living in Nashville, I
sure miss 12th & Porter and I miss my favorite watering hole.
The Sunset
Grill...check them out too.
Chilane Turner
This site is a dear friend of mine
who is very entertaining.
